HOUSING LIFESTYLES With Nicole Amey howzat! After a cracking opening season in Melbourne Shane Warne The Musical is now set to bowl over audiences in Perth from 18 March, and in Sydney from 15 May. Starring composer and comedian Eddie Perfect, this hilarious musical gives an understanding of the highs and lows of one of cricket’s most famous characters as he battles with fame, failure, fidelity and, of course, the media. Guaranteed to make you laugh, the show also even has a touch of Bollywood. Shane Warne has been described as the new breed of Aussie music theatre that smokes, drinks, carries a few extra kilos and still brings home the Ashes. So what does Warney think of all this? ‘It’s a very funny show, extremely entertaining. Enjoy it.’ For more information visit www.shanewarnethemusical.com.au tradies in demand Single women have declared the trend for dating metrosexuals is well and truly a thing of the past. According to a recent survey* women these days are much more interested in dating tradies than suits! Apparently women are sick of sharing their hair products, moisturisers and mirror-time and are much more interested in a guy who knows how to fix a tap or change a tyre. The survey results prompted a bit of fun in the form of a national search for Australia’s Hottest Tradie. Mick Jessop, a carpenter from WA, has taken out the inaugural title. Beating a field of over 1500 other hopefuls, Mick took home a swag of prizes, including a brand new ute. Mick says that he was just thrilled to have won a competition for doing a job that he loves. Still running Peter Stannard Homes, and as enthusiastic and interested as I am now. Downtime? I adore my family, so when I’m not working I’m with my wife, four children and 10 grandchildren as often as possible. Other times I can be found cycling, assisting on two farming properties of 1100 hectares, or in the Philippines working on a voluntary building project. Biggest challenge? The intricacies of balancing human resources with business operations. Being mindful of the needs of the individual while growing a knowledgeable, finetuned business. HOUSING MARCH 2009 1.
